Description
Add fresh carrots from the Nicola Valley to your table with produce grown right here at Shackan Nursery. Our carrots are harvested at their peak for the best flavour and texture.
Because they are harvested at their peak, these carrots snap cleanly and taste sweet. They also keep their crunch far longer than store-bought carrots.
We grow our carrots using careful, small-scale methods. As a result, every bunch supports Indigenous-led agriculture and local food security.

Ways to Enjoy
Store carrots in the fridge with the tops removed so they stay crisp. You can also use the greens to make a peppery pesto. In addition, carrots roast to caramelized sweetness and shred easily into salads and slaws.
Why Local
Carrots are a dependable root crop well suited to the Nicola Valley. Freshly pulled carrots are also sweeter and crunchier than carrots shipped long distances. Above all, every purchase supports Indigenous-led agriculture in the region.
When you choose fresh carrots from the Nicola Valley, you get vegetables picked at their peak rather than shipped across the country. These fresh carrots travel only a short distance from our fields to your table. As a result, they arrive fresher, last longer, and keep your food dollars in the community.
You can find our produce at the Nicola Valley Farmers’ Market in Merritt on Saturdays. Alternatively, arrange pickup directly at Shackan Nursery during the growing season.
Every box and bunch supports Indigenous-led agriculture and local food security in the Nicola Valley.
