Red-osier Dogwood

Scientific Name: Cornus sericea (syn. Cornus stolonifera)

Add year-round colour and habitat value to your landscape with Red-osier Dogwood (Cornus stolonifera), a hardy native shrub found throughout British Columbia. Its brilliant red winter stems make it a standout in any season.

Red-osier Dogwood is well adapted to the moist soils of Interior BC. Its white spring flowers, white berries, red fall foliage, and glowing red stems make it excellent for riparian plantings, hedgerows, and erosion control.

Growing naturally along streams, wetlands, and moist forest edges, this vigorous shrub roots readily from live stakes and provides fast, effective cover for stabilizing wet ground.
