Description

Rabbitbrush

Scientific Name: Ericameria nauseosa (formerly Chrysothamnus nauseosus)

Bring late-season gold to your dry landscape with Rabbitbrush (Ericameria nauseosa), a hardy native shrub of British Columbia’s sagebrush steppe. Its bright autumn flowers light up the grasslands when little else is in bloom.

Rabbitbrush is superbly adapted to the hot, dry, well-drained soils of Interior BC. Its silvery stems, fine foliage, and profuse yellow blooms make it an excellent choice for xeriscapes, pollinator gardens, and grassland restoration.

Growing naturally across grasslands, roadsides, and open flats, this tough shrub provides critical late-season nectar and holds fragile dry soils in place through every season.
